Week 1
Learning about basic throwing skills. We will focus on centering, pulling up and forming simple vessels like cups and bowls.
Week 2
Learning about basic trimming techniques, such as how to trim different kinds of foot rims and smooth the pottery pieces.
Week3
Expending your throwing skills. Learn how to create beautiful curved shapes on the wheel. This class focuses on shaping techniques that help you achieve softer, more dynamic profiles, such as belly-shaped cups, and small vases.
Week4
Expanding your trimming skills and learning about how to style your pieces. We will introduce carving techniques, learn about joining handles and decorating your pieces.
Week5
Designing and throwing your own project. An instructor will always be by your side to guide and support you, tailoring their assistance based on your individual needs and situation. The teacher will also introduce throwing on bats, teaching throw plates and donut plates
Week6
Trimming and styling your own project. An instructor will always be by your side to guide and support you, tailoring their assistance based on your individual needs and situation.
Week7
Learning about brush-on glazing technique and underglaze painting
Week8
Learning about dip and pour glazing technique. And we will introduce clay wedging techniques, demonstrate how to recycle clays and talk about work health and safety knowledge.

What You’ll Take Home:
By the end of the course, you’ll have a collection of your own handcrafted pottery, approximately 6-8 pieces as well as a solid foundation in wheel-throwing techniques.
No prior experience is necessary—just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to get your hands dirty!

*We would like to kindly remind you that our classes do not include make-up sessions for any missed lessons. Cancellations must be made at least 2 weeks in advance to receive a refund.

Collection Policy: Once you have been notified that your pieces are ready for collection, we will hold them for a maximum of 6 weeks. Any pieces not collected within this period may be removed and disposed of due to limited storage space.
